When can I view the auction?

We offer plenty of time for you to view the lots for sale. We recommend that you view goods before you bid. Viewing is on the day of the auction from midday or if you can’t make the day you can call for extra photos or a condition report or arrange to view out of hours.

If I want to bid do I have to come along for the whole auction?

No. You are of course welcome to stay for the whole auction or you can place an absentee bid. As an absentee bidder you can leave a commission bid or you can ask to be called to bid “live” on the phone when the lot comes up for sale.

Do I need to register to bid?

Yes. On your first time to The Barn you will be asked for some basic details (address and telephone number) and to see some ID and we will issue you a bidder number. This is the number you will use to buy and sell if required. If you are not attending the auction and are one of our International or National customers, you can register online or by phone to be allocated a number. This involves a £1 PayPal transaction which is refundable on your first purchase. Returning room bidders then bring their card (paddle) or collect from the front desk on each visit.

Do I have to be in the room to bid?

No as mentioned you can leave commission bids or telephone bids.

How do I pay for goods?
